BSNL Combo 18 prepaid recharge plan offers 1.8GB daily data for 2 days; now available in Tamil Nadu

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched their latest Combo 18 prepaid recharge plan for Tamil Nadu circle. The plan was earlier available in a number of other regions, but now the plan has been made available in Tamil Nadu as well.  The plan allows users to browse up to 1.8GB of high speed data daily. The plan also offers users with 250 minutes of free calls to BSNL and non-BSNL numbers. The plan validity is for two days. BSNL Tamil Nadu announced the arrival on Twitter about the latest Combo 18 plan in the Tamil Nadu circle. The plan offers 1.8GB daily high-speed data and 250 minutes of free calling to any network and comes with a validity of two days.  After the daily data limit is used up, users can continue to browse at 80Kbps speeds. TikTok star Sonu Nayak films video on bridge in Ahmedabad amid lockdown; arrested

Ahmedabad : A TikTok celebrity was arrested in Ahmedabad allegedly after she recorded a video at a bridge during the COVID-19 lockdown. Identified as Sonu Nayak, the TikTok fame is a resident of Kundaliyavas area of Isanpur, Ahmedabad.   Nayak was arrested after she uploaded a TikTok video which had been filmed at the Isanpur bridge during the lockdown. The video had been made at around 9 pm on Monday.  Nayak was released on bail soon after she was arrested. The police sprung into action after the video uploaded by Nayak went viral on social media. The TikTok user had been arrested for violating the lockdown.  Sonu Nayak also works as a nurse at a private hospital. India reports 5,609 fresh COVID-19 cases, total count rises to 1,12,359; death toll at 3,435

New Delhi:  The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 3,435 in India and the number of total positive coronavirus cases climbed to 1,12,359 on May 21, Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the last 24 hours, the country recorded 5,609 fresh COVID-19 cases. The number of active COVID-19 cases stands at 63,624, while 45,299 have been cured/discharged and one patient has migrated. Of the total coronavirus cases, Maharashtra tops the tally with 39,297 COVID-91 cases, Tamil Nadu comes second with 13,191, Gujarat is placed at third position with 12,537 cases. Delhi has recorded 11,088 COVID infections so far, Rajasthan 6,015, Uttar Pradesh 5,175 and Madhya Pradesh 5,735. States which have recorded more than 1,000 coronavirus cases include West Bengal (3103), Andhra Pradesh (2602), Punjab (2005),  Bihar (1674), Telangana (1661), Karnataka (1462), Jammu and Kashmir (1390), Odisha (1052). 12 killed as cyclone Amphan batters Bengal, Odisha; restoration work underway in Kolkata

Kolkata:  Severe cyclonic storm Amphan made landfall in West Bengal and Odisha causing widespread damages in both the states. At least 12 people have been killed in storm-related incidents so far. The National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) is carrying out relief restoration work. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, monitoring the situation from the state secretariat, claimed at least 10-12 people lost their lives yesterday. "Area after area has been ruined. I have experienced a war-like situation today. At least 10-12 people have died. Nandigram, Ramnagar....the two districts of North and South 24 Parganas are destroyed," she said. Sensex rises over 150 points, Nifty regains 9,100 mark; Bharti Infratel, Bajaj Auto among top gainers

New Delhi:  Indian markets opened nearly flat on Thursday after rallying for most of the week, tracking muted Asian shares. Concerns over the long-term impact of the virus and worries over economic recovery led to profit-booking in recent gainers, say analysts. As of 9:20 am, the Sensex was up 138.60 points or 0.45% at 30,957.21 while the Nifty traded 46.70 points or 0.52% higher at 9,113.25. Top gainer & loser Gains in the market were led by banking and auto stocks with their respective sub-indices on NSE- Nifty Bank and Nifty Auto- rising 1.08% and 1.88% respectively. Among Nifty stocks, Bajaj Auto was the top gainer, up 5.52% followed by Bharti Infratel and Hero MotoCorp, which gained 3.16% and 2.38% respectively.
