Huawei P40, P40 Pro get listed on TENAA, tipped to support 5G and up to 5 cameras

The P40 and P40 Pro are expected to be Huawei's upcoming flagships. The handset appearing on TENAA is a hint that the launch of the device may be closer than expected.

Huawei’s upcoming flagships, the P40 and P40 Pro are expected to be launched in March 2020, and even though there still remains some time in between, rumours and leaks about the device have started picking pace. And now, the flagship series has found itself being listed on the Chinese certification website, TENAA.
The handsets appearing on TENAA is also a hint that the launch of the device maybe closer than expected. The listing comes after the upcoming flagships appeared in leaked renders and live images. The listing reveals the phone to come carrying model numbers ANA-AN00/ANA-TN00 (for the Huawei P40) and ELS-AN00/ELS-TN00 (for the Huawei P40 Pro).
The listing doesn’t reveal much about the device, except for the models numbers and that both the devices will be 5G enabled. Apart from this, the phones have also been revealed to support dual SIM cards and come running Android. Although, there is no clarity on whether the flagships would support Huawei Mobile Services or still come with Google Services.
While there is no official word on this yet, the phone maker is also expected to launch a special variant of the Huawei P40 Pro at launch. This will be a premium device and will be priced accordingly.
Apart from this very little is known about the device, but recent reports suggest the P40 Pro could come with a periscope-style camera module that has a rectangular lens and will reportedly bring 10x optical zoom support with itself.
The Premium Edition of the device, however, is tipped to get an extra lens and ship with a penta rear camera setup. Live images of the device suggest it will feature a pill-shaped hole-punch housing dual selfie cameras. The camera here would be a custom Sony-made 52-megapixel lens with 1/1.33-inch sensor size.
For now, rumours say the phone’s launch event will take place on 26 March, but there’s real possibility that it may be pushed back because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
