This 5-day detox diet plan can help you lose holiday weight and flatten your tummy fast

New Delhi: Chances are you’re now starting to feel guilty because you’ve gained a few extra kilos over the holidays. But a detox diet plan might help you get back into your skinny jeans fast after overindulging at Christmas and New Year parties. What’s more, following a natural detox plan is so easy and can help cleanse your body of toxins with little or no effort. A healthy detox diet plan can help you lose belly fat and aid weight loss. Below is a 5-day post-holiday detox diet plan for getting leaner - it can be followed every time you deviate from your healthy eating habits.
The best foods to eat when on a natural detox diet are fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds. This simple detox diet plan can help you get rid of that ugly belly flab and bring back your curves in less than a week.

Early morning: Drink a glass of lukewarm water mixed with freshly squeezed lemon juice as soon as you get up on an empty stomach. This will help cleanse your tummy, liver of toxins and improve skin health. It may even reduce your calorie intake, thereby aiding in weight loss.

Breakfast: Ensure that you eat your breakfast every day, preferably at home. Include protein-rich foods in your morning meal to keep you full for longer and boost your metabolism, which is great for losing those unwanted pounds. You may also include green smoothies in your breakfast to get your daily dose of fibre and flush toxins from your body. Do not skimp on breakfast as it can backfire and cause overeating later in the day.

Lunch: Try to eat home-cooked meals only as it is the best and quickest way to get leaner and fitter. Include plenty of green veggies like cucumber, bell peppers, and tomatoes combined with proteins to your meals. Apart from eating cooked vegetables, you may want to have at least one serving of raw veggies with your meals - a great idea is to eat a bowl of green salad in every meal. Fruits and veggies are chock full of nutrients and antioxidants that will purify your system while nourishing your body. Celery, cucumber, lettuce and kale are excellent options to detoxify the body and restore health.

Snack: Apples (1 medium) or bananas (1 medium) or carrots (1 cup) or fruit leather without added sugar, yogurt ( a small bowl) are some examples of healthy snack components.

Dinner: Eat a light dinner, it’s often suggested to consume fewer calories at nighttime than you would early in the day. There are many vegetable soups that are healthy, delicious and filling. Homemade soups are a great recipe especially when trying to lose weight.

Eliminate all 'risky' foods: Try to steer clear of any ‘risky’ foods that are loaded with added sugars, salt and unhealthy fats - french fries, chips, most pizzas, sweetened breakfast cereals, soft drinks and sugar-sweetened fruit beverages, etc.

Drink water: Drinking enough water has been shown to increase metabolic rate, which helps you burn more calories. In fact, many people are consuming detox water to help them get rid of toxins, improve energy levels, boost digestion and speed up weight loss. You can make your own detox water by infusing water with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs that you like.
Sweat it out. Yes, diet plays a major role when it comes to trimming your waistline, but adding a few stretches in the morning and staying physically active can speed up your weight loss and recovery process. Research has shown that for most people, just 30 minutes of exercise a day is enough to stay fit. The good news is, you don’t have to hit the gym every alternate day to make you sweat. You can sweat away the pounds and toxins by finding activities that you enjoy and can stick to them without heading to the gym. Practicing yoga is an excellent way to naturally detoxify the body, reduce stress and improve overall health and well-being. There are several yoga poses that can help with weight loss if done correctly and on a regular basis.
Also, try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Sleep, along with eating well and physical activity, is a vital component of losing or maintaining weight.
Hope, these tips will help you reverse your holiday weight gain safely and quickly.
