Drink enough water to ensure weight loss - 4 ways water helps you lose weight

New Delhi: The food we eat and the exercise routine we follow are key when it comes to weight loss. However, various other factors are also responsible for helping us lose weight, especially when we are trying to get in shape in a healthy way. While fad diets seldom work, even if they do, they may not be sustainable, and a healthier, better way of losing weight has to be found.
Various lifestyle factors play a role in determining your weight loss. Sleep quality and duration, smoking, alcohol and drug use, and the amount of water you drink are some of the most important ones. Hydration plays a key role in all your body functions, and can, therefore, directly affect your weight loss. Know why not drinking enough water may be the reason you are not losing weight.
All of us are aware that digestion is a very important body function for weight loss. If your food does not get digested properly, you will not be able to lose weight. Indigestion may also cause bloating. Water helps in the smooth digestion of the food we eat, and thus, plays an important role in weight loss.
Water boosts metabolism
Metabolism refers to the rate at which the body burns food for energy, and therefore, it plays a key role in weight loss. Hydration helps to boost metabolism and thus helps in weight loss.
Helps in detoxing the body
The more water you drink, the more waste is eliminated from your body. Drinking water can help clean out your system and detox your body. Not only does this help in keeping the risk of diseases away, it also helps in weight loss.
Drinking water suppresses appetite
If your problem with losing weight is that you cannot curb your appetite, and end up eating more calories than required, or more than you can burn, water is a great drink for you. Drinking water can help suppress appetite and will ensure that you eat healthily, but just enough for your body to have optimum energy. Drinking water can fill you up more than any food can and, thus, help in losing weight.
