A couple who recreated a picture that they clicked 28 years ago is melting the hearts of netizens. Raymon 'Ray' Michael Puzon took to Twitter to share two photographs of his parents standing at a memorial at Lingayen Beach in the Philippines. While the first picture was clicked in 1992, the second was clicked on January 11.
The 1992 photo shows his mother wearing a red shirt along with white trousers and his father sported a brown shirt with a white neckline and beige-coloured pants.
The new photo clicked on January 11 shows the parents striking the same pose in similar outfits at the same place.
"So my parents asked me to take their picture so that they could recreate their picture in the same spot from the year 1992," the tweet reads.
The story behind the photos looks like a Bollywood movie script. Ray's father Ramon Puzon met Nela during college years and became college sweethearts.
When Nela got sick during college, she had to skip classes for a semester. That's when Ramon decided to visit her place to know about her health as there was no phone at Nela's place.
During a second visit on Valentine's Day, he made sure that he carried a camera to capture pictures of her. "I made sure I had a camera with me so I could take pictures of her and us. It was my way of having something to keep when I was not with her," Ramon told Daily Mail Australia.
These were the very first pictures of the couple which were clicked by Nela's younger sister.
Both of them graduated from college in 1993 and got married in June 1995.
However, the family lost most of their photographs, including their wedding and honeymoon albums, when their home was hit by typhoon "Ondoy" in 2009. All they could recover were their very first pictures together.
Ramon surprised his wife when he told her that he wanted to recreate the picture on their recent visit to Lingayen. He had done extensive planning to get an outfit that was similar to what they wore back in 1992.
When he could not find a similar shirt for himself, he decided to buy a brown one and wore a white t-shirt under it. Since he could not find a Betty Boop fan, he thought of going with Snow White.
The tweet has gone viral on the micro-blogging platform, garnering over 1 lakh likes and 25,000 retweets.
